Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival / Arusha National Park

Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, you will be met by our company representative based here and then after short briefing on your stay, proceed to your Hotel at Arusha National Park with short stopovers.

Arusha Park is the closest to Arusha town. It is a multifaceted jewel offering an interesting
opportunity to explore a diversity of habitats. The park offers you beautiful views of – Mount Meru
– the fourth largest mountain in Africa standing – 15,000 feet above sea level. In the evenings
when the skies clear you also catch a glimpse of – Kilimanjaro. At Arusha Park you can see – leopard and spotted hyenas. Elephants are rare and lions don’t
inhabit this park but many other small wild game can be spotted.

Afterwards in the afternoon after lunch, commence the journey back to Arusha town so that
you arrive back by – evening at 4pm and proceed to the Impala Hotel / similar.

Day 2Arusha National Park / to Tarangire

After breakfast at the hotel depart with picnic lunch boxes and drive to Tarangire.
On arrival you will proceed directly for game drives. Then later you can enjoy lunch
at a good picnic spot.

Tarangire National Park is accessible from Arusha or Manyara parks and is located closer to the
Manyara region. It is one of the larger National Parks in the country. Tarangire River is a major
draw for wildlife especially during the very dry season.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory
wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons.
It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem – a smorgasbord for
predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately
fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. During the rainy season, the seasonal visitors scatter over a 20,000 sq km (12,500 sq miles) range
until they exhaust the green plains and the river calls once more. But Tarangire’s mobs of elephant
are easily encountered, wet or dry.

The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding
species in one habitat anywhere in the world and on drier ground you find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thighed ostrich, the world’s largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys. More ardent bird-lovers might keep an eye open for screeching flocks of the dazzlingly colourful yellow-collared lovebird, and the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling – all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania.

Tarangire’s pythons climb trees, as do its lions and leopards, lounging in the branches where the fruit of the Sausage tree disguises the twitch of a tail.

In the evening after the game drives at around – 5pm, drive to the – Tarangire Burunge Camp / similar – to freshen up followed by Dinner and overnight.

Day 3Tarangire/Lake Manyara National Park

Depart Tarangire after breakfast with picnic lunch boxes and drive to Lake Manyara
National Park, on arrival you will proceed directly for game drives. Then later you can enjoy lunch at a good picnic spot. Lake Manyara National Park is situated spectacularly between the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and Lake Manyara. The most famous spectacle is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of Acacia trees.

After game drives in Manyara, you will drive out of the park by – 5pm and Proceed to check in at the – Lake Manyara Hotel / similar – located at Karatu area. Freshen up then dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Lake Manyara / Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast today then depart from your Hotel with picnic lunch boxes and Commence the long journey by road to Serengeti. On the way you have the option to pass through a Masai village and learn their way of life.

We will find a good spot from where you can enjoy picnic lunch and then continue the journey to Serengeti.

Serengeti is vast and covered by grassland savannah. Game drives are exciting as animals can be spotted from a long distance away and the density of the wildlife is very high.

As the park is vast, we start game drives a long way before arriving at the camp.
Proceed on game drives until evening by 4pm then proceed to check in
at the – Serengeti Kati Kati Camp / similar. Freshen up followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 5Full Day – Game Viewing in Serengeti

After breakfast today, we depart with lunch boxes and proceed on full day exploring the Serengeti.

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular park. A world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder. Serengeti is famed for the wildebeest migration when more than 200,000 Zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s Gazelle join the wildebeest trek for fresh grazing grounds.

The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-manned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

Return to the Hotel will be in the evening after sunset and in good time to enjoy a sumptuous meal of dinner.

Day 6Serengeti / to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast today, depart with picnic lunch boxes and drive for 3 hours to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, descend down the steep walls of the caldera for game viewing in the Ngorongoro National Park.
You will have a chance to enjoy lunch from your boxes at Ngorongoro conservancy.
After lunch proceed with game drive driving towards your Hotel at Ngorongoro conservancy.

The Park is a paradise of woodlands and lakes that provide for abundant wildlife. Gazelle, buffalo, elephants, wildebeest as well as big cats, particularly the black manned lion, leopards and hyena. A multitude of birds including flamingos are sighted regularly. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro crater has been called a Garden of Eden.
