Upon arrival, met by our company representative at Julius Nyerere International Airport then after short introductions, commence the drive to your hotel in Dar es Salaam. You will arrive at Southern Sun Hotel where you will spend the night.
Meal Plan – Bed and breakfast basis
After breakfast today, you check out then commence the journey by road to Mikumi. Drive through the beautiful landscapes with short stop-overs en-route and you are set to arrive at Vuma Hill Tented Camp in time for lunch.
After lunch in the afternoon, enjoy game drives at Mikumi National Park which is the third largest national park in Tanzania and is rich in wildlife and contains buffalo, elephant, lion, Wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, impala and hippo. Over 300 species of birdlife have been recorded.
Later in the evening, drive back to the hotel for dinner followed by overnight
After breakfast today, depart from your hotel with picnic lunch boxes and proceed for full day of game viewings at Mikumi National Park. Expect to spot – Lion, numerous birds and hippo among other animals.
Later in the evening, return back to the Vuma Hills Tented Camp where you freshen up then dinner is served followed by overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel and then by 8.30am depart and commence the drive to Selous National Game Reserve. The Selous Game Reserve is one of the largest reserves of the world, located in the south of Tanzania. It was named after Englishman Sir Frederick Selous, a famous big game hunter and early conservationist, who died at Beho Beho in this territory in 1917 while fighting against the Germans during World War I.
The Selous was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to the diversity of its wildlife and undisturbed nature. Walking safaris are permitted in the Selous, and boat trips on the Rufiji are a popular activity.
Today in the afternoon enjoy a boat Safari on Rufiji river then afterwards in the evening return to the Rufiji River Camp for Dinner and overnight. The Rufiji River Camp is a tented camp situated in the north eastern part of the Selous Game Reserve on a high bank overlooking the mighty Rufiji River and the plains beyond.
After breakfast today, you will proceed for a guided nature walk on Selous which allows an intimate impression of the African bush and wildlife that is unforgettable, and brings you closest to pristine nature.
Lunch will be at the Rufiji River Camp and afterwards, afternoon game drive in Selous; Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary with an area of 54,600sq. km. and is bigger than Denmark and 4 times the size of Serengeti. It has the world’s largest number of big game Elephant, buffalo, rhino, sable antelope.
Selous also contains wildebeest, eland, giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, impala, hippo, leopard and lion.
There are about 350 species of birdlife.
Later in the evening return to Rufiji River Camp where you freshen up then dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, drive to the airstrip in Selous to take your domestic flight to Zanzibar. You are set to arrive in Zanzibar after one and half hour flight. Then transfer to the Blue Bay Beach Hotel in Zanzibar / similar.
Spend your days at leisure at the Blue Bay Beach Resort. You can relax at the beach or take up excursions to explore Zanzibar or use hotel amenities like; Swimming pool, tennis court and the like. Your accommodation at Blue Bay Beach Resort is on half board basis.
After breakfast today, transfer to the airport in Zanzibar for your flight to Dar es Salaam. On arrival in Dar es Salaam domestic Airport, you will be met and driven to the International Departures Terminal to catch your scheduled onward flight.
