An Insight on Visit Parc National des Volcanoes

Parc National des Volcanoes located in the north of Rwanda where about 300 mountain gorillas live. There are ten habituated gorilla families – each of the groups allows up to 8 participants per day. You can track gorillas, climb the Visoke volcano, track the golden monkeys or visit the Karisoke Research Centre, which Dian Fossey the famous primatologist set up, or visit local villages. The Parc National des Volcans (PNV) is part of the Virunga Conservation Area and covers more than 125 km². Kigali City tour: the colourful markets, genocide memorials and craft centers are the main areas of interest. In Rwanda you will find all over the country Memorials to remember the genocide of 1994. The most important Genocide Memorials are those of Kigali (Gisozi) where the history of the genocide is explained. A visit to the genocide memorial is for most visitors an emotional event.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes NP

Meet and greet at the Kigali International Airport by your driver-guide. Depending on your arrival time, your driver-guide may propose you a visit of Kigali city which includes the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi. Transfer to Kinigi at the foothills of the Volcanoes. Overnight and dinner at Gorilla Nest Lodge (High end facility), Le’ Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) or Kinigi Guest House (Budget facility) (L-D)

Day 2Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, you will depart for the headquarters of the Park where your driver-guide will accomplish the necessary formalities for you. You will meet your ranger guide(s) for a briefing about the greatest animal experience ever! Overnight and dinner at Gorilla Nest Lodge (High end facility), Le’ Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid Lodge facility) or Kinigi Guest House (Budget facility) (B, L, D).

Day 3Parc Volcanoes and Departure

Track the golden monkeys thereafter return to Kigali and if you missed the opportunity the first day, you will have your Kigali city trip including the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi. Transfer to the Airport for your departure. (B & L) End of service

Day 4Bwindi-Kampala

After your morning breakfast, drive back to Kampala using Kasese-Fort Portal road via Queen Elizabeth National Park for enroute game viewing if you lucky you may spot the Elephants, Antelopes and the Warthogs. A stop over at the Equator line in Kasese. Enjoy the winding scenery of the foot hills of Mt. Rwenzori arriving in Fort Portal for lunch thereafter continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your overnight at your choice of hotel waiting for you next day morning flight out Meal Plan B-L End of Service
