Itinerary

Day 1Nairobi to/ Samburu National Reserve

Pick up from your place of residence in Nairobi by our driver guide in the morning and commence the drive through the lush kikuyu farmlands and coffee plantation to the cool Kenyan highlands to arrive at The Samburu Sopa Lodge/ similar in Samburu in time for lunch.

After lunch, check – in and freshen up at the hotel then at 4pm proceed for game drives in Samburu National Reserve until – 6.30pm at sunset.
All meals and overnight will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge/ similar.

Day 2Full day Samburu National Reserve

Today after breakfast proceed for full day in the reserve with game drives at 0630hrs and 1600hrs respectively. Samburu is famous for its rare mammals that only survive north of the equator. These are the gerenuk, reticulated giraffe, Beira Oryx and grevy’s zebra.
However, other wild game including – Elephant, Lion, antelope and cheetah are also found here.
All meals and overnight will be at Samburu Sopa Lodge / similar.

Day 3Samburu to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary

After breakfast by 10am commence the journey towards Nanyuki to arrive at Sweetwater’s Game Camp/ similar in time for lunch.
After lunch relax then in the afternoon proceed for game drives in the sanctuary in search for wildlife in including: – the rare black rhinos, chimpanzees, lion, cheetah and numerous bird species.
Afterwards in the evening return to the camp then freshen up and enjoy dinner followed by overnight at the camp.

Day 4: Sweetwaters / Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast today check out from your Hotel and drive towards the Mt. Kenya highlands making a short stopover in Nanyuki at the Equator point. Later drive on to Nyahururu with another stop over at the famous Thompson falls. Afterwards, continue on to arrive your hotel in Nakuru in good time for lunch. After lunch, short siesta until 3pm.

At 4pm proceed for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park which takes you to the shores of the lake famous for its birdlife especially flamingos that form a pink hue across the lake.

Lake Nakuru National Park is also a world class bird watching safari destination and fondly referred to as the bird watchers paradise The Park has more than 25 black rhinoceros plus around 70 white rhinos. There are also a number of Rothschild’s giraffe, Waterbuck, lion, cheetah and leopard as well as flamingos.

The park has a myriad other bird species that inhabit the lake and the area surrounding it, such as African fish eagle, goliath heron, hamerkop, pied kingfisher and verreaux eagle.

Later in the evening return back to the park to freshen up and enjoy a sumptuous meal of dinner followed by overnight at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge / similar.

Day 5Lake Nakuru National Park / to Masai Mara

Depart Nakuru early after breakfast and drive through the floor of the Great Rift Valley to the world renowned Masai Mara game reserve, arriving at Mara Sopa Lodge / similar in time for lunch.

The Masai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 650sq miles of the Masai Mara adjoins Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one ecosystem. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is home to numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topi, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra.

After lunch, relax at the camp for a while until 4pm, when you enjoy an afternoon game drive in the reserve returning back to your Hotel / Lodge in the evening after sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 6Full day in the Masai Mara

Depart your hotel after breakfast with picnic lunch boxes and proceed to spend the full day in Masai Mara with game drives in the morning and afternoon hours.

It sure is a sight to behold to see the animals in their natural habitats and in their elements. It can be a humbling experience, but also an amazing one, to visit with these incredible beasts!

You will enjoy picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park. Dinner followed by overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge / similar.

Day 7Maasai Mara / Serengeti National Park

Early breakfast today then depart from your Hotel with picnic lunch boxes and Commence the long journey by road to Serengeti. On the way you have the option to pass through a Maasai village and learn their way of life.

We will find a good spot from where you can enjoy picnic lunch and then continue the journey to Serengeti. Serengeti is vast and covered by grassland savannah. Game drives are exciting as animals can be spotted from a long distance away and the density of the wildlife is very high.

As the park is vast, we start game drives a long way before arriving at the camp.
Proceed on game drives until evening then proceed to check in, on arrival at Serengeti Kati Kati Camp / similar freshen up followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 8Full Day – Game Viewing in Serengeti

After breakfast today, we depart with lunch boxes and proceed on full day exploring the Serengeti.

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular park. A world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder. Serengeti is famed for the wildebeest migration when more than 200,000 Zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest trek for fresh grazing grounds.

The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-manned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat.

Return to the Hotel will be in the evening after sunset and in good time to enjoy a sumptuous meal of dinner.

Day 9Serengeti / to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast today, depart with picnic lunch boxes and drive for 3 hours to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, descend down the steep walls of the caldera for game viewing in the Ngorongoro National Park.

You will have a chance to enjoy lunch from your boxes at Ngorongoro conservancy.
After lunch proceed with game drive driving towards Ngorongoro Farm House / similar at Ngorongoro conservancy. On arrival check in and then afterwhile freshen up and proceed for dinner followed by overnight.

Day 10Full day Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast today, we depart with lunch boxes and proceed on full day exploring the Ngorongoro Park.

The Park is a paradise of woodlands and lakes that provide for abundant wildlife. Gazelle, buffalo, elephants, wildebeest as well as big cats, particularly the black manned lion, leopards and hyena. A multitude of birds including flamingos are sighted regularly. Wildly beautiful as it is, it is not surprising that Ngorongoro crater has been called a Garden of Eden.

In the evening start driving towards Ngorongoro Farm House / similar on arrival freshen up then dinner followed by overnight.

Day 11Ngorongoro / Lake Manyara

Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast with picnic lunch boxes and drive to Lake Manyara
National Park, on arrival you will proceed directly for game drives. Then later you can enjoy lunch at a good picnic spot.

Lake Manyara National Park is situated spectacularly between the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and Lake Manyara. The most famous spectacle is the tree-climbing lions, which are occasionally seen along branches of Acacia trees.

After game drives in Manyara, you will drive out of the park and drive to Lake Manyara Hotel / similar, on arrival freshen up then dinner followed by overnight.

Day 12Lake Manyara / Amboseli

Depart Manyara after breakfast with picnic lunch boxes and drive to Amboseli National Park, on arrival you will proceed directly for game drives. Then later you can enjoy lunch at a good picnic spot.

After lunch, proceed with game drives at Amboseli National Park as you drive to The Amboseli AA Lodge / similar, on arrival check – in to the Lodge, meanwhile freshen up and proceed for dinner and overnight.

Day 13Full Days in the Amboseli

Early in the morning after breakfast depart from you Hotel with picnic lunch boxes and proceed for full day in Amboseli with game drives insearch of the big five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant). Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. It lies 150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli.

You will enjoy picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park.

After lunch, proceed with game drive at 4pm when it is cool and chances of spotting wild game are highest. We will return back to Amboseli AA Lodge/ similar in the evening after sunset in good time for dinner and overnight.

Day 14Amboseli / Back to Nairobi

After early breakfast, check out from your Hotel and embark on a journey by road to Nairobi. Your driver guide will make a short stop-over en-route so that you can get to stretch your legs or purchase some snacks en-route.

Afterwards, proceed on with the journey to Nairobi and upon arrival drop off at your place of residence.
